Avary's First Month

Ava got to meet her Papa Joe in Wenatchee, WA. We went to visit the family over Labor Day weekend.
Ava 3 weeks old.
She caught Josh's cold at 2 weeks old and also had a double ear infection. Talk about a rough start.

Jaya and Josh fight over who gets to hold her. Where did all these blue eyes come from?!
Avary 1 month old
Avary is not a very content baby. She does not like to be put down and when she is, she screams and screams. The only thing that I have found to keep her content is putting her in the Bumbo while the dryer is running! At least I am able to get the laundry done!

Jaya's First Day of Kindergarten

Jaya was so excited for Kindergarten. She especially was excited about the backpack she got to pick out. It has Tinkerbell and other little fairies all over it. She started Sept. 2 and is going to Farmin-Stidwell Elementary. Her teacher's name is Mrs. Gillhausen. She says that Jaya is very shy but a very good student. Jaya's favorite part is riding the bus to school and then she gets to eat her lunch in the cafeteria and then goes to the playground before school starts. She only goes half day from 11:30-2:40.  I am still trying to figure out how to get things on a schedule with naps, feedings, running errands, and picking up from school. I am sure I will figure it out just in time for something to change!

Ava's first bath - Sunday, Aug. 17

I am not sure why the first bath is such a momentous event, maybe it is because that annoying umbilical cord finally fell off or maybe it the is the excitement of getting all the dried spit-up out from under the chin, but what ever it is we are sure to record it. I asked who was going to help me give Avary the bath and of course all the kids wanted to help. I asked Brian to grab the camera and so the kids all grabbed their Princess and Toy Story cameras as well. Ava didn't seem to like the bath too much at first. I am not sure if it was the water or because she had to pose not only for daddy but also for Jaya and Josh to take a picture as well. The cameras prompting of "Say cheese!", "You're as pretty as a princess." and "Buzz Lightyear to the rescue!" didn't get her to crack a smile either, but she sure smells a lot better!

Love Grammy Nae

We were all so glad that Grammy Nae came to stay with us for a week. She pampered us all. Thank you!!

Today marks the beginning of my new life... a mom of three. All the family have come and gone. My extra helpers have gone back to their own families. Daddy has returned to work. I tell myself that I can do it! Even though I was woken up every half hour with one or the other kids either needing a feeding (Avary), because they were scared (Jaya), couldn't breath from a stuff nose (Avary & Josh), or just because they like to get out of bed so I can put them back in it (Josh). So what! This is what moms do. We still get up to turn on PBS, get the cup of milk, and start the laundry no matter how much sleep we got. Look out Monday, here I come!
